Evaluated
Tapes ![]()
For many years I have used evaluated tapes without any problems. Why do I like to use them? First they are cheaper, but they also have many other advantages over new tape stock. Every single evaluated tape has been scanned along its entire length by a laser for flaws or faults, unlike new tapes where only samples from each batch are checked. As a result you can be sure the evaluated tape is free from defects, each evaluated tape comes with a printed report on its condition. Also because the tape has already been run through a machine once, any debris or high points on the tape surface that may contribute to tape wear will have been removed or smoothed out. Using evaluated tapes helps prolong the life of the heads in my cameras. The evaluated tapes I use and supply have been cleaned to remove any labels or stickers, then they are tested, scanned and erased. The end product is as good as, if not better than a new tape and half the cost.
