Minicams

I can provide a full range of mini-cams and other specialist cameras including Hi-Definition, High Speed and Timelapse. I have fitted miniature cameras in racing cars, stunt aircraft, fighter aircraft, boats, balloons, radio controlled planes, on animals, athletes, undercover reporters and scuba divers. I have systems that can record locally or transmit the images to a remote recorder or outside broadcast vehicle. I am a qualified electronics engineer and can design and develop bespoke camera systems for specialist applications. As well as cameras I can supply GPS based telemetry systems that can provide a custom on screen "Digital Dashboard" giving speed and G Force readouts. I have designed systems for keeping the lenses of cameras clean in dirty or wet environments as well as miniaturized pan and tilt heads with radio remote control.

Currently in development:

Gyro stabilised pan and tilt head for use with DVCAM / HDV palmcorders.

This new stabilised hot head uses a combination of active piezo electric gyros and passive gyros to stabilise a small palcorder sized camcorde. The end result is a very stable image from a moving vehicle, aircraft, crane, jib or other mount at a fraction of the cost of most traditional gyro mounts.

Compact "moving film" lense cleaning cartridge.

I am currently working on a new compact lens cleaning system that can be used with most current mini-cams. It is a small unit that sits infront of the lens and uses a special miniature motor and gearbox to wind a clear mylar film in front of the lens. This is an update of the system I developed for use on single seater racing cars back in 1988.
